Follow Highway 101 North as the city fades into wine country, farmland, and towering redwoods. About 4.5 hours later, you’ll arrive in Eureka.
From Sacramento:
Travel north on I-5, then turn west onto Highway 299, winding along the Trinity River until the forest opens to the coast and Highway 101.
From Oregon:
From the coast, drift south on Highway 101. From inland, follow I-5 to Highway 199, where rivers and redwoods guide you to 101 and onward to Eureka.

Follow Highway 101 North as city streets soften into vineyards, open farmland, and ancient redwoods. Stay with the coast until you arrive in Crescent City. The trip should take about 6.5 hours.
From Sacramento:
Travel north on I-5, then turn west onto Highway 299, tracing the Trinity River through forested canyons. Join Highway 101 and continue north to Crescent City. The trip should take approximately 6.5 hours.
From Southern Oregon:
From the coast, take Highway 101 South straight into Crescent City. From inland, follow I-5 to Highway 199, a winding forest route that leads you west to the sea and into town. Approximately 2-4 hours.
